Home at 355 Peltoma Ave.

Our home is said to be a home that a school house was moved to and added on to the home. When renovating the home we found items in the walls that had evidence of this possible being fact. In the walls there was insulation of straw/hay and items were mixed in with it.

We found old ink dipping pens, pencils down to the bare minimum, paper with school work written upon them, a Pinkham’s medicine bottle, and old tin cans. Also there were clothing and newspaper articles from 1839 from a newspaper printed in Massachusetts, a woman’s braid, and what looked to be clippings of a child’s or children’s hair.

I believe the family may be related to a Stephen Burton because there was a clipping of a marriage announcement that was amongst the items found in the wall.
