ORIGINAL SCANS DVD

The ORIGINAL SCANS DVD Vol. 1 from the Pittsfield Historical Society is a collection of high resolution scans and digital photographs made by members of the Society for archival purposes and for use in preparing the Society's website. It is intended that a great part of the society's collection will be digitally scanned for preservation of the images of our history.

Currently the ORIGINAL SCANS DVD Vol. 1 contains 2.45 GB (as of Dec. 2006) of scans and photographs, and includes:

• Loder's 1907 "Souvenir of Pittsfield, ME"
• The Historical Society's 1994 "Milestones and Memories" 80 page booklet.
• The Historical Society's collection of approximately 40 glass slides from H.L. Cornforth's Clothing Store for showing at intermission at the Bijou Theatre.
• The photos and text from the "1994 Pittsfield Souvenir Calendar" done for Pittsfield's Sesquitriquarter Anniversary 1819-1994.
• The photos and text from the "2005 Pittsfield Historical Calendar".
• The photos and text from the "2006 Pittsfield Historical Calendar".
• High resolution photos of headstones from the Carr Cemetery, the Weymouth Cemetery, and part of the old section of Village Cemetery.
